Communication is an Art, Learn It

An age-old saying goes, “It’s not what you say, but how you say it.” This is the foundation of having the effective communication skills and also the most important one.

When you communicate well it  encourage a healthy environment. Effective and open communication always helps to get the  quickly and professionally.

Lets take a quick look at various modes of communications and how the communication across various platforms be made effective via the following 13 ways :

1. Emails

It’s the most effective way to communicate and pass message in the official settings, environment .

2. Open Meetings

Open meetings are the  opportunity to communicate freely in the professional work environment and its very effective way.

3. One on One

This is expert driven advice that some people understand better when you take them aside and talk to them on a one-on-one basis. We have to ensure to  maintain eye contact with them and let  the message to sink in.

4. Listen to Your Team Members

You have two ears and one mouth –so you must listen more than you speak. Communication is always two way drive to be most effective

5. Create a Receptive Atmosphere

Your message has to be received well and has to be understood well  so never make the environment too tensed , the atmosphere has to be receptive around.

6. Display Confidence and Seriousness

While communicating in a public the message will be taken the way it is articulated so maintain your confidence well and seriousness as necessary

Visuals play an important role in communicating the important piece .Visuals gives room for better understanding.

8. Use Body Language

Your body language will pass your message faster and better. Master the art of using body language when communicating with your team. Stand/sit up straight, use smiles, handshakes and eye contact.

9. Use Simple Words

To be effective in your communications use words that can be easily understood. You can be misunderstood or waste precious time having to explain yourself.

10. Be Humorous

When the atmosphere is unfriendly and intense, being humorous does the trick.

Articulation helps us to express our message in the right way . Hand gestures helps to emphasize the points and also establish a rapport that you are making a point and you rely on them .

13. Encourage Feedback and appreciate

Effectiveness of your style of communication . It will also afford you the privilege of knowing if your message was well understood. After every session always remember to thank your listeners for their time, it will cost you nothing and it’s a simple politeness.
